Voice messages unintelligible in Bose QC35II

I have new headphones which function well except I hear unintelligible sounds from a female voice. If these sounds are intended to convey some useful information can they be converted to English language spoken by someone with a standard accent?

Does it sound like another language?  If so, connect to the Bose connect app and you should be able to change the language from there. 

 

If it's not another language, then you may want to get them checked wherever you purchased them from.
