Volume with Denon receiver

I successfully paired my 700 headphones with my Denon AVR-S750H, however, the volume is very low. I've turned up the volume the highest the headphones will let me but it's barely above a whisper.

The only reason I got these headphones was to watch movies without disturbing the rest of the house. It's not worth watching if I have to strain to hear though. Is there anything I can do?

Hi IronMill,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

Have you been turning the volume up using the volume control on the headphones themselves or the receiver? Depending on how your receiver works with Bluetooth, you may find that you can control the volume on the receiver and on the headphones independently, which means you may need to turn the volume up on both the receiver and the headphones to get the full volume.

I hope this helps, let me know!

(I do not work for Bose)

I have a Onkyo TX-SR393 receiver but the concepts/issues should be similar.  Here is what I would check/troubleshoot:

1. First connect speakers to your receiver and find out if the volume issue pertains to any output device or just your 700

2. Does the volume issue happen both when the 700 is wired and BT or just one or the other

If you can get volume for external speakers but neither wired or BT for your 700, here is one more suggestion - connect directly to your TV.  I just checked on my Samsung, and I was able to connect directly to it (with no sync'ing issues) and had no issues with the volume.

Thank you for the reply! Turning up the volume on the receiver has no effect unfortunately. When I initially set up my headphones through the Denon settings, the onscreen message says "Audio is output from Bluetooth headphones only."

Thank you - I will check these recommendations out too. I hadn't thought of connecting external speakers or just using the Samsung TV sound only.

Pairing my headphones directly to the TV and not through the receiver did the trick! Thank you!
