Who designs a phone with no headphone jack? Any ideas for line directly into phone with only USBC?

Many new top end phones are like that.

 

You can purchase a USBc-3.5mm adapter from most electrical stores.

Tons of options on Amazon. You can get just a headphone jack or combo ones that offer more ports. 

While I agree that having the convenience of a headphone jack was nice, there's benefits to having less open ports on a portable device. I've grown used to it and it's been fine
