We have a vocal group that ranges from 1 to 5 that sings with backing tracks from an IPad.
Our mixer is the Soundcraft Signature 10 http://www.soundcraft.com/products/signature-10
Wireless mics are Audio-Technica System 10 Pro http://www.audiotechnica.com/c…a86183f78/index.html
FWIW the mixer and receivers are housed in a homemade contained unit.
Will my mixer/mic set up work with the L1/1S?
If so, how do I connect the two together for the best sound?
Thanks for any/all help!!!
Hi Wendol,
Thank you for joining the Forum.
Your mixer/mic setup should work fine with the L1® Model 1S.
Here’s how I would make the connections from the mixer to the L1®.
On the mixer:
Set the PAN control on each channel to hard LEFT.
Connect the LEFT output to the L1® Analog Input. You will use an XLR to ¼ inch jack Tip-Ring-Sleeve cable.
Set the L1® Analog Input trim to “3” (it looks like 10:00 o’clock).
Pictures coming.
Easy.

Hi Wendol,
Here’s the mixer.
ST, Great info and illustrations!!
One more question that is more mixer related. If I’m playing a split track on my iPad or MP3 player, plugged into my mixer…will both tracks be summed in the “LEFT output” of my mixer, that will be going to the L1 analog?
Hi Wendol,
If you use an iPad or iPod, you can sum the channels to Mono within the device. Here’s how.
How to enable the auditory accessibility for iPhone and iPad
If you are using a CD player or mp3 player that does not have a mono output then things are a little more complicated.
You have enough Channels that you could connect one side of your stereo signal to Channel 6 panned hard LEFT, AND connect the other side of the stereo signal to the LEFT input of Channel 7. That will get both sides of the stereo signal running to the LEFT output, and from there to the L1®.
I noticed that you are considering getting a T1® from your post in Ask Bose For Help forum. Please see my next post below.

Hi Wendol,
I noticed that you posted the following in the Ask Bose For Help forum. This opens up possibilities for dealing with stereo backing tracks.

I’m considering the model 1S or model II, however I need to get a plan to accommodate the 5 mics and CD input.
Options:
1. Mixer to Power Stand (explained by ST)
See posts above with added information about connections for an iPad or iPhone.

2. Combine Mixer with T1…pros and cons…how to connect such a set-up.
With the combination of your mixer and the T1®.
You can run the 5 vocals into your SoundCraft mixer as described above although you could choose to pan similar voices to LEFT and other similar voices to RIGHT depending on differences in the voices.
Then run the LEFT and RIGHT outputs to the T1® into Channels 1 and 2, and use different vocal Presets or EQ to fine tune the sound.
You can take the stereo output of your iPad, iPod, or mp3 player and connect those to T1® Channel 4/5. It was designed to accommodate a stereo signal and combine it to mono.
The final connection would be from the T1® to the L1® using the supplied ToneMatch cable. This is a digital connection.
This would leave you with a microphone or instrument channel free on the T1® for a talker or guest musician.
Note: This also leaves the Analog input on the L1® open for another sound source (e.g. keyboard).
Not to confuse things - there is another approach you could try. That would be to run three vocals and the backing tracks through the T1® directly to the L1® (ToneMatch connection), and two vocals through the SoundCraft Mixer to the L1® through the Analog input. That’s not nearly as complicated as it sounds. This gives you another option for explore.

3. Other options (can’t afford a second T1 right now)?
You get a lot of flexibility adding the T1®. In the last scenario I described above: (T1® direct to L1® and Mixer to L1®, you are basically using your mixer in place of a second T1®).

Thanks for the help!!
How does that sound?
