Windows 10 Problems

QC35 headsets are not connecting with Windows 10 Laptop. I checked all the updates and troubleshot the issue but it just keeps not connecting. Laptop headphone jack also cannot detect my QC35. Please help. Thanks!

Hello Josh,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Bose Community Forums.

I am sorry that you are having issues pairing with your laptop. Please, can you try the steps mentioned in this thread and let me know how you get on.

If you still have issues after this, please do let me know.

Kind Regards,

If anyone else is having problems with VERY persistently non-functioning Bluetooth I bumped into this post elsewhere on the forums and that worked instantly. I was debugging this till midnight and trying all the possible solutions, removing drivers, installing new ones, clearing list, disabling LE, restarting services, restarting Windows, if it's online I tried it, but nothing worked until this:

ISSUE RESOLVED!

Basically, refer to the post #9 in the following forum thread (not sure if I'm allowed to post the links here): <link not working anymore>

I'll also quote the solution here in case the link isn't ok:

My symptoms:
- Previously working bluetooth speaker (UE BOOM 2 in my case) stops connecting
- Windows 10 'Bluetooth and other devices' menu shows the device as Paired
- Pressing connect makes it attempt to connect but fails then it goes back to Paired
- Remove device hides the device from the menu, but as soon as you turn bluetooth on and off, or restart the computer, the device comes back
- You pull your hair out.

Solution that worked for me after much, much unsuccessful internet trawling and one system restore:
- Download this 7 year old command line bluetooth toolset: http://bluetoothinstaller.com/bluetooth-command-line-tools/
- Install it, make sure you enable the option to "Add Bluetooth Command Line Tools directory to path"
- Open Powershell
- Put your device that isn't working properly into pairing mode
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING COMMAND WILL UNPAIR ALL BLUETOOTH DEVICES
- type in "btpair -u"
- Boom, all of a sudden Windows asks me if I want to allow pairing to my device that isn't working
- Hit yes, successfully connected again
- Cry tears of joy

It works!!!

thank you, after an hours of trying different things, I found your post 😉

Thanks a million. This worked for me. My issue was my 300 soundtouch sound bar stopped showing on the bluetooth list. It would work on my cell phone but not on my laptop. Followed the instructions and ran powershell and the btpair -u. Checked the bluetooth list on my pc and it showed up. Thanks again.

Did you hear the phone that could connect? (After you held the button)

After that, Windows / Add bluetooth, select Bose, Password: 0000 and Connect?

When I paired with my phone, I heard the message on my headphones. On Windows, I didn't hear anything, but the pairing code came up and (having read some other posts on this) I accepted it on windows. It paired, according to Windows. But I heard no confirmation on my headnphones. I will try again this evening. Thanks.

So ... Open AppBose, connect your Bose. Open "Connections" within APP. Select "Connect New". (Will show that you can connect through Windows without having to hold the button)

Try to connect now through Windows (Pass 0000).

See if the app recognized?

Went through the pairing and connecting process again. Windows said it paired. The headphones did not. Here's what it looks like:

The PC is not listed in the Bose Connect app on my phone.

I'm going to try one more thing.

I searched for new drivers and tried one for my Broadcom 20702 dongle on the Lenovo site. Those drivers installed, overwriting the "latest" drivers from the Windows Update site. It worked. The phone acknowledged the connection. The problem was the driver from the Windows site. Go figure.
