Yahama 6 channel mixer to F1 speaker and sub

Hello, I recently got a Yahama MG06X cause I want to use my F1s has a karaoke. I was just wondering how to the connect the mixer XLR (R L) to the speaker or sub? Can I use the stereo out instead?

Hello justinjavier,

I downloaded the manual for the Yamaha MG06X, and the hookup should be very easy.  The best illustration is on the top half of page 15 of the F1 manual.  From the mixer to the subs, you can use either XLR-F to 1/4" TRS cables or 1/4" TRS-TRS cables.  The XLR and 1/4" jacks on the mixer both have the same stereo signal out, so it doesn't matter which one you use.  From the subs to the F1 812 tops, you can use either XLR-F to XLR-M or XLR-F to 1/4" TRS cables.  (My personal preference is to use the 1/4" TRS-TRS cables from mixer to sub, and XLRF-XLRM cables from subs to tops.  That way it's easier to keep track of which goes where.)

Run one cable from the mixer's STEREO OUT L to the LINE INPUT of the "INPUT 1" channel on one of your F1 subs.  The run one of the other cables second cable from the LINE OUTPUT of that "INPUT 1" channel to the "INPUT 1" of your F1 812.  Repeat the process for the mixer's stereo out R to the other F1 Sub and F1 812.

Set the "LINE OUTPUT EQ" on each F1 Sub to "THRU".  Very important:  On your F1 812's, set the SIGNAL INPUT on INPUT 1 to "LINE", and set the SYSTEM EQ to "WITH SUB".

Turn down the volume all the way on both the F1 Subs and F1 812's, start your music, and raise the volume on your mixer.  Watch the LED lights above the volume controls on your F1 Subs and F1 812's.  If you are getting a steady green, you are getting a good signal to the speakers.  If you are getting any red, reduce the mixer volume slowly until you're back to green.  Then raise the volume on the F1 Subs and F1 812's to taste.

Does that help?
