That loop sounds like a faulty power supply to me, but I don’t have a PM8500 so take it with a grain of salt.
Hello ChrisJ-at-Bose,
can you send me this info too? I have PM8500 with a unknown password…
Thank you!
I have just acquired one from a Church install and am unfortunately having problems with the password lockout too, I have tried connecting via usb and using the software but the usb panel lock sequence is still required.
Also, if I just connect this to a 10amp circuit with no speakers just to configure it via usb, am I at risk of damaging the unit or should I just wait until I am on another 15amp?
Thanks for your time and help!
10 amps at 120VAC is 1.2 kW., which should be fine unless you are actually using it.
Mind the specs though, 15A is not enough for the maximum inrush current for some versions/configurations.
I am having problems unlocking a PM8500.
I have tried using Controlspace Design but it also ask for 5 digits code.
Secondly I can only update firmware to v2.220.
Hope that Chris is still here.
Hi eveyone !
Can someone help me ? I have tried in recovery mode to change de pin but it is not possible.
Also update the firmware … no results. I tried show the pin in recovery mode but it shows me the IP Adress…
Can someone have and idea of how can I bypass the code ? It was set up by an old employee but he moved. Thank you !
As far as I know, the only way to bypass the code is ControlSpace Designer and, failing that, it’s either hacking inside or trial and error.
I don’t have one of those units but my guess is that the designers of the unit could foresee the need to bypass the code so there is most likely a backdoor in the form of a pin, serial port or something else, probably needing to open the unit and fiddle with the main board.
If anyone is willing to open up a unit and take a peek inside, we might collectively get somewhere.
Chris could you please help… origial lost the unlock. Any chance you could help ?
